[ARCHIVED] Proposed Amendment to Subdivision Regulations

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AND TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED: 

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 14, 2018 the Seward County/City of Kismet Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at the Seward County Administration Building, 515 N. Washington, Suite 200, Commission Chambers, Liberal, Kansas, at 7:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, to consider an amendment to the Seward County/City of Kismet Subdivision Regulations.  The current version of these regulations are available for review in the Planning & Zoning Office during normal business hours or on the Seward County, Kansas website at http://www.sewardcountyks.org/DocumentCenter/Home/View/117.

The following is proposed to be amended: Article 3 Section 3-107 Agricultural Lot Splits item (3)

Current language:

3. All lots created shall maintain the minimum lot frontage on a public road as required under the provisions of the Seward County Zoning Regulations for properties in the “AG” Agricultural Zoning District. Further, the smallest lot created shall not be greater than 10 acres in size.

Proposed Language:

3. All lots created that are 3-10 acres shall maintain the minimum lot frontage on a public road as required under the provisions of the Seward County Zoning Regulations for properties in the “RR” Rural Residential Zoning District.  The parent parcel, regardless of remaining acreage, shall maintain the minimum lot frontage on a public road as required under the provisions of the Seward County Zoning Regulations for properties in the “AG” Agricultural Zoning District.  Further, the smallest lot created shall not be greater than 10 acres in size.

            As provided in KSA 19-2961, the above amendments will be discussed and considered by the Seward County/City of Kismet Planning Commission.  All persons interested in said matter will be heard at this time concerning their views and wishes.  Written comments may be submitted by those interested but unable to attend the hearing.  All comments, views and concerns presented at the hearing will be considered by the Planning Commission.  Following the public hearing, the Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissions for their consideration.  Revisions or changes to the proposed amendment may occur at the Public Hearing.  The Planning Commission may continue this matter to a later date without additional notice.
