Paper Map Guidelines

  • Media: All maps will be printed on 24-pound white bond paper.
  • Timeliness: Maps with basic information will be provided in a timely manner. Custom maps that have to be developed, will require a two week minimum notice to the GIS Department. Time frame negotiations may take place at time of map request.
  • Prioritizing: The GIS Department has the authority to prioritize map making. However, timeliness will not exceed what was agreed upon when the map request was placed.
  • Disclaimer: The Seward County Disclaimer will be displayed on all paper maps.

Digital Map Guidelines

If you are inquiring about layers in digital form you will need to complete the "Request for Access To Digital GIS Data" .

  • Media: Maps will be released on flash drive, CD, DVD, or email.
  • Timeliness: Maps with basic information will be provided in a timely manner. Custom maps that have to be developed, will require a two week minimum notice to the GIS Department. Time frame negotiations may take place at time of map request.
  • Prioritizing: The GIS Department has the authority to prioritize map making. However, timeliness will not exceed what was agreed upon when the map request was placed.
  • Disclaimer: The Seward County Disclaimer will be displayed on all digital maps.
  • Format: Maps will be released as Adobe read-only files. Patrons receiving these files will in no way be permitted to manipulate information.
  • Resale: Maps received in digital format may not be reproduced for anyone other than the purchaser. Reselling of Seward County data will not be allowed for any reason.
