Seward County Planning and Zoning and the City of Liberal Building Department in the process of updating construction codes to in an effort to improve the community's ISO rating and to ensure structures meet minimum safety standards. The 2015 I-Codes and the 2014 NEC are proposed to be adopted in the near future. As part of this process, staff has reviewed the codes and proposed some amendments, which are listed in a document available here.
The codes proposed to be adopted are the 2015 editions of the International Building Code, International Residential Code for One- and Two- Family Dwellings, International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Property Maintenance Code, International Existing Building Code, and the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, and the 2014 National Electric Code.
Copies of these code are available for review in the Planning and Zoning Office during normal business hours. Some of these codes are also available here.
