[ARCHIVED] Public Hearing on Regulations Amendments

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on April 13, 2015 the Seward County/City of Kismet Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at the Seward County Administration Building, 515 N. Washington, Suite 200, Commission Chambers, Liberal, Kansas, at 5:45 P.M., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, to consider amendments to the Seward County/City of Kismet Zoning Regulations.
The following are proposed to be amended:
Article 17 “PUD” Planned Unit Development District Regulations
Changes would allow this district to be used in the unincorporated areas of Seward County instead of limited to the City of Kismet. Changes are also proposed to the Plan Approval Guidelines for this district.
Articles 1-104, 27-104, 27-108 and 29-104 also have proposed amendments. These amendments are generally minor in nature and are requested to clarify, correct or create consistency with other adopted codes and regulations.

The full text of the proposed amendments is available for review in the Planning & Zoning office during normal business hours. It is also available on the Seward County website at

As provided in the Seward County Zoning Regulations, the above amendments will be discussed and considered by the Seward County/City of Kismet Planning Commission. All persons interested in said matter will be heard at this time concerning their views and wishes. Written comments may be submitted by those interested but unable to attend the hearing. All comments, views and concerns presented at the hearing will be considered by the Planning Commission. Following the public hearing, the Planning Commission will recommend the amendments, with any revisions or changes as determined at the Public Hearing, to the Board of County Commissions for their consideration and approval or the Planning Commission may continue this matter to a later date without additional notice.
